Have you ever noticed that people seem to want things be different, or better, but they don’t really want to change. We embrace change most when it is someone or something else doing the changing. If only we had a new job, a better boss, a more supportive partner… then things would be so much different in our lives.
I asked someone today, “What do you have to do that you don’t want to do, to get the results you desire?” His response was quick and simple. One word, in fact. But then he launched into an explanation of why that wouldn’t work for him, how he’s tried, but it just didn’t make sense to him. If only the company he worked for would develop a chart that flowed more in line with his way of thinking, he would be able to do it so much better. He didn’t want to change his way of doing things, even though he knew it would bring him the results he wanted.
What is it that you have to do, that you don’t want to do, to get the results you want? Do you need to give up that afternoon snack to lose some weight?
